What Are You Playing for Xmas?

So it's Christmas, should you have not noticed. A time where people find they (hopefully) have little work to do and too much free time on their hands, exacerbated by a sudden and desperate need for a reason to avoid the glut of distant family members.

So many of us as gamers take advantage of (or possibly refuge in) the opportunity to spend some real quality time playing games. What I would like to know is what kind of games we are playing and why.

Are we playing the same as usual, or perhaps taking the time to try something we have perhaps neglected? Expecting any new games in those presents under the tree you intend to take advantage of? Or do you have some favourite game you regularly bring out for Christmas?

For my part, I find myself spending a great deal of time with Team Fortress 2. I have not played it so much in... ever, actually, but I have found a comfortable server, the lure of crafting materials is a little addictive and I have found it is a game that can successfully be played sat on the sofa with the mouse resting on the furniture's arm and with one earphone on so I can still socialise with the family and get those frags in.

Now I think about it, Christmas day itself will be the perfect time for going crazy with the Steam winter sales... yes, I think Fahrenheit, Machinarium, Braid, Witcher, maybe Morrowind. Sounds like a day well spent!

  1. I just finished Dragon Age Origin (very disapointed by the last hours of the game), now I'm finally playing to Dead Space, and when I will be done I think I will spend some hours to play to King's Bounty : Armored Princess, I will try Majesty 2, play some games on League of Legends and Left for Dead 2, and eventually, when Santa will have put some nice and well packed gift under the Christmas tree, well I will play The Void... Well, to quote you : "sounds like a day well spent!" ;) Have a merry Christmas and enjoy your games !
